Winter Diving

Cozumel is considered one of the best diving spots in the world having and it is no surprise that high season tends to be one of the best times of the year to dive here.

Although Cozumel is the perfect spot to dive year round, it is from November until March that the famous spotted eagle rays come out to play. These creatures are known for their unmistakably spots. They are like human fingerprints, one of a kind. Even though they tend to avoid divers, specially ones that try to get to close, they are often spotted at various locations.

We recommend to let them come to you, they often enjoy the bubbles tickling they underside and remember to not touch them as their mucous membranes are very sensitive and they have a venomous spine and tails

Along with spotted eagle rays it is very likely that you get the chance to see the different types of turtles like the green turtle, loggerhead, and the hawksbill.

Diving conditions to spot these beauties are ideal during these months. Water temperatures decrease to 80F (25C) and we recommend a 3mm wetsuit specially if you are doing deeper dives and you can feel the temperature drop.

Visibility is great even when doing deeper dives like the Devil’s Throat which reaches 40 meters and currents tend to be mild and they can even make your dives more enjoyable, as you drift on top of the endless colorful reefs.

So, what are you waiting for? Book your dive with us today!
