Neoprene vs. Greenprene

Hello divers, today we are going to talk about something very important to us here at Cozcu, sustainability a concept we should all be familiar and passionate about. As ocean lovers and admirers we should all be conscious about our impact and how we can minimize it. One way to do it as a diver is by the products we use, ie. your wetsuit.

That's why at Cozcu we opted to buy the innovative and durable Greeneprene wetsuits by Henderson. These unlike normal wetsuits are not made from petroleum or lime stone, both of which are non-renewable resources. Instead, our wetsuits are made from a bio-based insulation foam that results in a wetsuits with high durability, extra warm, and super stretchy. 

Apart from swerving away from the petroleum industry, we really admire that these products are bio-based and therefore biodegradable compared to norma wetsuits. Neoprene wetsuits do not biodegrade and just add to the innumerable amount of trash that will not be broken down in nature. In fact, according to Abigail Lorick, an entrepreneur on the mission to innovate neoprene products,  380 pounds of neoprene are thrown away each year.
